Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Medical Training Therapy any different from fitness training?

The lumbar extension and cervical extension testing and training machines have been developed especially for the treatment of the cervical and lumbar spine. This equipment is also used for testing and measuring the strength and mobility of the back muscles. Therapies by means of these machines are carried through only by physicians and MedX therapists specifically qualified for this work. In most cases, this therapy is allowed by private medical insurances. Comprehensive scientific data clearly show the higher efficiency of this therapy with comparison to conventional conservative therapies such as physiotherapy, massages, electrotherapy and so on. • By training with the MedX equipment, is there only muscle substance built up around the herniated disk? And in this case, would physiotherapy not be more adequate?

Physiotherapy, massages, but also the conventional training devices have only some effect on the muscles just underneath the skin. MedX training equipment stimulates muscles that are deeper underneath and cannot be trained by means of normal exercises.

  • In general, surgery is chosen too fast. Is that true?

That is true. For this reason, we try to avoid surgery by using the Medical Training Therapy. On average, out of 100 patients coming to see us for possible surgical treatment, only 8 are operated on in the end.

Indications for surgery should be very restrictive and seen as a last option. In case surgery cannot be avoided, the endoscopic method TES should be used.
